Mrs. Rookie Gross, Camp Director
Mrs. Rookie Gross has been a leader in Torah day camps for close to twenty-five years, serving communities in Connecticut and New Jersey. In 2013, she founded Camp Acheinu and, B’Chasdei Hashem, has guided its remarkable growth and success ever since. Her genuine warmth, personal care, and exceptional attention to detail are woven into every aspect of camp. Her passion for creating a nurturing, Torah-dik environment is reflected in the beautiful sheim tov that Acheinu has become known for. In 2025, she founded Camp Ashreinu to bring that same commitment to Torah values to girls in Bergen County. With her personal touch, vision, and dedication, she strives to create an environment where every girl can thrive and shine throughout the summer.
Mrs. Rachel Burg, Head Counselor
Mrs. Rachel Burg brings nearly three decades of experience in Jewish education, including sixteen years teaching at RYNJ and serving as Head Counselor at Camp Dina. Her exceptional creativity, remarkable organizational skills, and natural leadership abilities are evident in every aspect of camp. A truly dedicated and thoughtful leader, she approaches every decision with kindness, care, and a deep commitment to our campers, parents, and staff. Her genuine warmth and personal attention create a positive, nurturing environment where everyone feels valued and inspired to grow.
Mrs. Rachel Stavsky, Program Director
Mrs. Rochel Stavsky, affectionately known as “Morah Rochel,” brings over a decade of experience in childhood education, including teaching at Yeshiva Ketana of Manhattan and serving as Head Counselor at Camp Topeinu. Her boundless creativity, contagious enthusiasm, and easygoing personality bring excitement and joy to every camp day. Exceptionally hardworking and always eager to learn, grow, and share new ideas, she creates engaging, memorable programs that campers of all ages love!
Mrs. Ahuva Pomerantz, Office Manager
Mrs. Ahuva Pomerantz has been a devoted member of the Camp Acheinu family since 2015, bringing over 31 years of experience in business management and bookkeeping to her role as Office Manager. Known for her exceptional patience, kindness, and dedication, she goes above and beyond to assist our Camp Ashreinu families. Her genuine love and concern for every camper and family are evident in everything she does—you can feel her warmth and personal care in every email she writes!
