Mrs. Rookie Gross, Camp Director
Mrs. Rookie Gross has been a devoted teacher and leader in Torah day camps for over twenty years, serving communities in Connecticut and New Jersey. In 2013, she founded Camp Acheinu and, b’chasdei Hashem, guided its growth and success ever since. Her passion for creating a warm, Torah-dik camp is reflected in the beautiful Sheim Tov that Acheinu has become known for. Recognizing the need for a girls’ camp in Bergen County with the same Torah-centered hashkafa, she founded Camp Ashreinu in 2025, bringing her heart and vision to create a nurturing environment where every camper can thrive and shine.
Mrs. Rachel Burg, Head Counselor
Mrs. Rachel Burg has devoted nearly three decades to Jewish education, serving in schools, camps, and outreach programs. She taught first grade at RYNJ for sixteen years, served as head counselor and camp mother at Camp Dina, and has been involved with NCSY, Aish HaTorah, the OU, and Project Inspire. A true role model, Mrs. Burg brings her vision for an exceptional girls’ day camp where campers can grow spiritually, socially, and physically, and she is thrilled to bring this dream to life at Camp Ashreinu.
Mrs. Rachel Stavsky, Program Director
Rachel Stavsky, warmly known as “Morah Rachel,” brings warmth, affection, and enthusiasm to Camp Ashreinu. With over a decade of experience in childhood education—as a teacher at Yeshiva Ketana of Manhattan and Head Counselor at Camp Topeinu—Rachel’s experience, talents, organizational skills, and, most importantly, love of children make her a true asset to the camp. She looks forward to connecting with each camper to create a joyful, memorable summer.
Mrs. Ahuva Pomerantz, Office Manager
Mrs. Ahuva Pomerantz has been working in Camp Acheinu since 2015 and serves as our Office Manager. Mrs. Pomerantz has been working in the business management and bookkeeping profession for over 31 years. Mrs. Pomerantz loves to help people and really enjoys working with camp.
